About The Designs

Handmade in Northwestern Ontario

Tuija creates seasonally-inspired garments and household items with a focus on eco-friendly textile practices. She spends most of the growing season here in Northwestern Ontario, foraging for dyestuffs including weeds, flowers, mushrooms and trees to create plant-dyes; dye fibres; and sew truly one-of-a-kind, regionally-coloured items. She also works to reduce landfill waste by recycling old clothing and linens into cozy, functional and beautiful items for self and home!

Now more than ever, Tuija's work is inspired by her boreal forest surroundings and a passion to create environmentally-friendly, up-cycled, eco and plant-dyed works of art and clothing, while connecting to communities in the process.
