In 2021 I adapted my practice by co-facilitating community-workshops with Miranda Bouchard and the AlgomaTradCentre at the Community Colours Dye Garden on St. Joseph’s Island, identifying dyestuffs foraged and grown, dyeing fibres, and creating with community members across the province virtually. This introduction to a “community dye garden” inspired me to develop my own community arts project in rural Thunder Bay | Anemki Wekwedong. I’ve partnered with Willow Springs Creative Centre in Lappe, Ontario to create a dye-garden for community learning and collaborative creation.
The Old Roots New Seeds Community Dye Garden is an Ontario Arts Council supported project, of which we are thankful for!
